Poke for dinner

Its a hot day and not only do I not want to cook but turning

on the oven or even stove is not a good option.

I guess we could grill but when we find a delicious, very fresh piece

of ahi tuna, everyone here wants poke.

This delicious island-inspired dish (Hawaiian) is one of our favortites and a go to.

There are many variations but this simple recipe is a great way to get it

done quickly and let the flavors meld together for great eats at a later time.

Great as an appetizer or dinner course

Recipe :

6 servings or 4 generous for dinner

1 pound to 1 1/2 -ahi tuna - cut into small pieces, place into a bowl

1/2 tsp powdered ginger

3 tbsps Hawaiian soy sauce - the best flavor

(or regular soy sauce or gluten-free Braggs aminos)

1 tbsp black or regular sesame seeds

1 to 2 tsp sesame oil

3 green onions chopped small (kitchen scissors work great here too)

Serving ideas.....

pickled ginger

cucumber slices

avocado

water crackers or slices of baguette

favorite lettuce leaves (long romaine leaves are a great way to use

like a cup and place some poke on)

add some red pepper flakes for heat

add more sesame oil for freshness
