Summer Fruit packets on the Grill

I knew this particular day we were going to BBQ when my husband got home from work.

Having extra time to prepare the meal (marinate the chicken and vegetables)

that I would also have time to prepare a dessert.

I got my daughters involved and had them prepare something a little sweeter.

Everyone in the kitchen.

With fresh peaches in such abundance right now I used a few of those.

With a dash of ground cardamom and some fresh basil you are in for a real treat.

Recipe (so very simple ,great for entertaining)

Peaches and Basil (one peach per person)

- fresh peach/es washed

- cut in half , take pit out

- in foil piece place the peach

-sprinkle some ground cardamom (tiny springing , want as background flavor)

- a few washed basil leaves in between the two pieces

- put peach back together and wrap foil tightly around it

Place on low/medium grill heat for about 12 to 15 minutes)

Remove from heat

Packet and contents hot , careful to open packet

Hot ,Sweet, Tart ,Delicious and Healthy

Once that was wrapped up my girls and I opted for

chocolate banana melts as I like to call these packets.

Much more of a treat and super delicious.

Recipe (whole or half banana per person)

Chocolate Banana Melt

-cut off each end of banana(s) with sharp knife

-Using knife make slit down center of banana peel cutting also into banana

- chocolate of various natures

(either chocolate bar pieces/ chocolate chips which we used)

about tbsp per banana

- peanut butter (could omit if allergies ) or use other nut butter

(almond good also) Tbsp per banana approximately

- we cut a twix bar into pieces and placed that on top

To assemble -place cut banana on foil sheet piece

-open banana further with hand/fingers -place the nut butter if using

-add chocolate chip or otherwise pieces

-twix on top for added crunch and of course more chocolate

-tent the foil to hopefully keep chocolate from melting to much onto foil, wrap tightly to create seal

Place on low/medium grill heat for about 12 to 15 minutes)

Remove from heat

Packet and contents hot , careful to open packet

Family wanted ice cream with this, we had chocolate

but vanilla would also be yummy.

Ice cream scooped into bowl,

-scoop out desired banana melt amount

and there you have it.

Hot, sticky and ever so chocolaty.

Enjoy
